About Us

Warren Butera

Founder

Warren was the best of the best! The man who could do it all: Mr. fix-it, make crying babies laugh, finish his Bachelors degree the night before a brain tumor surgery, walk miles in a blizzard to get cough medicine for his son, sing sweet covers at karaoke nights, restore an old Volvo and install hand controls for his daughter's first car, a sous chef to his wife's infamous nutrolls... the list could go on. Although, his favorite thing to do was love his wife, Betty, undeniably and with a whole heart.

Warren was raised in New Castle, PA and played football for the high school team. From there, he took his cleats to Clarion University. Not long after schooling, he moved to Chippewa right down the hall from his future wife. Warren and Betty married in 1987 and went on to have 6 beautiful children.

They raised their kids to know and love God, love each other, and to be a good person. They also showed their children what hard work looks like. Warren was a cable splicer for Verizon and in his later years, joined Betty in becoming an entrepreneur and trying their hand at flipping houses, running multiple companies, and starting this foundation.

Warren began the foundation to make a difference in the lives of the disabled. As a father of 3 with a physical disability, he saw first hand the high costs of accessibility devices and the home modifications needed for independence. He wondered how he could make a difference and The Butera Foundation was started. Warren truly wanted to make life easier for the disabled and we continue to make that possible even without him.

Above all, Warren was truly one of a kind; a role model for a husband, a father, and friend. His spirit is simply irreplaceable and we look forward to the day we hear that laugh again and thank him for many things especially starting this incredible foundation.

Betty Butera

Inspiration

Betty, our rock and the love of our lives! Like her hubby, there is no one that compares to her and we all continue to strive to be just like her.

Growing up in Baden, PA as the youngest of 9, Betty was the baby of the family and the best friend to her mum and dad! She graduated from Ambridge high school and instead of college, she continued to climb her way up through management at Shop N Save; a feat for someone so young.

Since she was the youngest of 9, her parents were ready for retirement right after she graduated. Betty was given the choice of moving to a retirement community in Florida with her parents or get an apartment with her best girlfriend. Luckily, she chose the apartment in Chippewa where she met the love of her life!

Warren and Betty got married not long after dating and their love for each other grew 6x in size. Each of their kids embody the values and morals they instilled in them from an early age. Good character, Faith and Love in God, playful wittiness, care taking, selfless love, compassion for others, and honesty are just a few of the values we were raised on.

Wanting to stay home and raise her children, Betty chose to embark on the first of her entrepreneurship paths: THE Beaver County nutroll baker. Betty was an incredible baker and truly made a name for herself. She then tied up her apron after several years to pursue a home care company; truly a selfless career! Her home care agency is still operating since 2001 and continues to make daily differences in the lives of our elderly community.

Betty and Warren went on to experiment entrepreneurship in many different ways. Yet, we are privileged to continue the best one out of them all: The Butera Foundation.

Betty and Warren's children are devoted to making their legacy known to anyone who also shares a selfless compassion and giving for others. We are honored to have known Betty and Warren and to be so loved by them.

We await the joyous day when we can tell them all the things we never got to say. Their love lingers within all of us and it will carry on into the generations that they started by having us, their children.
